Each one of us has five basic human senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste. The sensing organs associated with each sense send information to the brain to help us understand and perceive the world around us.
The first level of Awareness is a person’s knowledge that something exists, or understanding of a situation or subject in the present based on information or experience. To progress to a higher level, quality, or state of being aware, the essential step is to go beyond these five senses and design an Aha moment, a moment of sudden realization, inspiration, or reflection. In this workshop, we aim to create a pathway helping each individual progress from Vision to Visionary, and from Moment to Movement. We adopt Artful Thinking Pedagogy, developed by Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with focus on experiencing or appreciating works of visual or performance art.
Evidence has shown that these routines help to sustain engagement and to realize this goal by activiating critical thinking and social emotional learning.
